מוטה גור, Tel Aviv

Afeka began as a cooperative housing project, with its first homes occupied in the 1950s. Many street names reflect the neighborhood founders’ connection with the Haganah.

The neighborhood in daily life

The original cooperative was established for Haganah commanders and their families. Tel Aviv University lies to the south, with Tel Baruch to the east and Neve Avivim to the west. The neighborhood’s name came from an earlier proposal involving Tel Afek, even though the homes were ultimately built here.

What to check at a viewing

Pay particular attention to outdoor-space boundaries and which maintenance duties fall to the tenant. Ask for the building charge, the protected-space location and the exact parking arrangement before comparing total costs. Visit at the hours you would normally leave and return; a daytime viewing alone may miss the conditions that matter to your routine.
